NUTRITIONAL GUIDANCE

Nutrition is always on our minds, What to eat? , When to eat? , and here at Tri & Tri Again as always we want to give the very best and latest advice in order to help you live and lead as healthy a lifestyle as possible.

Food provides all our energy and as such that source of energy wants to be the best. Make it the freshest vegetables, leanest meat cuts and the finest quality that you can afford.

Latest research suggests that in order to maintain a healthy wieght and metabolism we should try to:-

  • to eat a high protein breakfast,

  • have a lean protein* source in every meal,

  • leave 5 hours between meals - if exercise or lifestyle doesn't enable this then eat a high protein snack (i.e 5-6 Almonds),

  • have 'simple' carbohydrates (potato, pasta, rice, cous-cous etc) at lunchtime and use wholemeal variations were available,

  • Consume final meal of the day at least 3 hours before bedtime,

  • Comsume at least 1.5 litres of fluid a day

  • NO alcohol and finally,

  • add 1-2 tablespoons of Oatbran to your daily diet.

In our nutrition section we will provide information on the components of food and keep you updated with new recipes to try. We hope you like them but for now start to implement our top tips.

*Lean proteins include Filet, Sirloin and Rump Steak, Roast Beef, Hen & Quail Eggs, Skinless Chicken & Turkey, Veal cuts, all widely available Fresh Fish and Seafood, low-fat (-1%) yoghurt, quark, cottage cheese and fromage frais. Use skimmed milk in hot drinks or to blend with your Oatbran.
